High Honors Femme Fatale Performer: Brittany Nacocain
Born in Lima, raised by a single mother and her grandparents, Brittany was influenced by her grandfather from a very young age to pursue a career in the arts. This young poet, painter and burgeoning singer then began honing her skills as she moved to Columbus, Ohio as a teen. Upon acceptance to Fort Hayes Arts & Academics High School, she became engrossed in the arts and music.
After high school and a stint at Columbia College in Chicago, Brittany began dealing with the ups and downs of life. Around this same time, she became involved in several activism and social justice campaigns in the Chicago area. As a member of the activist group, YOUNG PEOPLE for CHANGE, she has spirited countless activities and events.
In April of 2014, she began releasing her own music as a voice of social change and artistic expression. Shortly thereafter, friend and label-mate Satele introduced her to J Rawls. Thoroughly impressed with her voice, character, and commitment to social change, Rawls invited her to be a part of the Polar Entertainment team. Now Brittany is currently working on her debut project for Polar Entertainment and will be releasing an EP of some of her early work.
Brittany will be performing at FEMME FATALE on Thursday, November 6th at Subterranean in Chicago, IL.
