Hustle & Ambition: On Set With Cast of Lee Daniels’ “Empire”

Hip-Hop lays the foundation for the Lee Daniels directed, “Empire” set for its pilot premiere on the Fox network. Daniels’ body of work takes viewers behind the surfaced visuals and into the lives of his characters and their multi-dimensions with an aesthetic that can be gritty and relatable to the core. Transitioning into television will be no different.

With the soundtrack provided by mega-producer Tim “Timbaland” Mosley who attains the infectious gift of making people rock to his tracks, “Empire” will document the dramatics of family, business and claiming your Throne.

Grit, hustle and ambition are brought to light through the stars of ‘Empire’, which include Taraji P. Henson (Cookie Lynn who is ready to claim what’s hers after serving a 17-year bid), Terrence Howard (Lucious Lyons, co-head of the record company), Malik Yoba (Vernon Turner, partner to Lucious and ready to take the company public), and a talented ensemble inclusive of Gabourey Sidibe from Precious, Jussie Smollet, Yazz, Macy Gray, and the daughter of Denzel Washington, Olivia Washington.

AndWePresent.com went behind the scenes of ‘Empire’ to chop it up with cast members about character development, motive, and why they would be crazy to turn down a Lee Daniels project!

Was Terry still in character during this interview? If not, it seems as though he, himself is at a crossroad.
