Red Tails Opened In Theaters Today (Trailer Inside)
Red Tails is a film that was developed by George Lucas, who’s most known for his work on Star Wars. The film features an all black cast, and because of that, Hollywood didn’t want to fund it, for they didn’t feel that moviegoers would support an all black film. Therefore, Lucas reportedly put $100 Million of his own money into the project that was released in theaters today.
The film documents the efforts of the Tuskegee Airmen, who were the first all African American aerial unit in the U.S. armed forces, and their role in World War II. The group was led by Col. A.J. Bullard, who’s portrayed in the film by Terrence Howard, and Major Emanuelle Stance, who was brought to life by Cuba Gooding Jr. After spending most of their time dealing with the war of segregation at home, they were finally given the chance to honorably defend themselves in the war.
Red Tails has been trending all week, and everyone from the celebs to the fans have been urging people everywhere to go out and support the film, and prove Hollywood wrong. So I too urge everyone to go out and check out the movie, and see the all star African American cast, who can currently be seen gracing the cover of Ebony Magazine. The film stars Ne-Yo, Michael B. Jordan, Nate Parker, Kevin Phillips, Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr., Elijah Kelly, Tristan Wilds, and a few other African American brothers. Check out the official Trailer below.
